A stroll along the beach
Hello
It started off rather murky here on Anglesey this morning so it was on with a bit of housework. However, about 1130 it got a lot brighter and I decided to nip out for a spot of photography.
Here is what took place.

Arriving at Penmon, spring was well under way.

The Chiff-Chaff was singing away in the woods close to where I park the van.

It's nice to have them back again this year and they are always one of the first migrants to arrive.

So I took a few shots and then headed out of the wood

Right on the edge of the wood, a Mistle Thrush was singing his little heart out.

Down at the waters-edge there was plenty going on

Oyster-Catchers were whirring around and settling again

A Redshank was foraging about as the tide went out. A Turnstone can be seen in the background

I saw a gull and Cormorant sitting on a rock and carefully made my way slowly towards them

I had never been this close to a Cormorant before and took about 60 shots

Then out of the blue, the Cormorant called out and I captured my favorite shot of the day.

So chuffed with that last shot, I decided to leave and get it onto the computer.

As I walked back to the van, I was rather suprised to see that the Turnstone were not flying off

I decided to take a few shots of these delightful little shore-birds.

They were sitting around in small groups

on the rocks. A lovely looking bird I think you would agree

Last shot of this Turnstone nearly being caught by a wave.

There we are folks. I hope you enjoyed the little stroll.
I would just like to wish you all a very Happy Easter.

Brilliant photographs but the cormorant is my favourite. The black edging onthe feathers looks just like scales. The turnstones in the surf are magical.

I was dissapointed, I thought you had been to warmer climes, but, this was better than any old tropical beach, you wouldn't get anywhere near the variety you have here and what great shots they are too, the comorant calling is super dooper. Enjoyed my walk along the beach even if it was a bit chilly

lovely blog Steve, nice clear shots.
Came upon a comorant at Talkin Tarn last month sitting in a tree drying it's wings. on approach it looked like a baby pterodactyl and typically I didn't have my camera just my kids on bikes and a mad dog.
Thanks
