Durham Lumière 2011
A walk round Durham City during Lumiere 2011, art made from light.

Brothers and Sisters by RON HASELDEN

I Love Durham by JACQUES RIVAL

The Cathedral was used as a backdrop for the light show

Wire mesh sculptures floated above our heads as we walked the old cobbled streets

Les Voyageurs (The Travellers) by CÉDRIC LE BORGNE

While some sat on the rooftops and watched us.

Across the Rainbow bridge and down to the riverbank...

..for a spectacular view of the Rainbow

The tree lined riverbank lit up and reflected in the water

I hope you’ve enjoyed our walk around the city and thanks’ for taking the time to have a look.

Hi Brian
I saw this on the telly this evening and said to Steph< I bet someone puts some shots in. It certainly makes for a great photoblog. Night shots and I see that the "waterfall" was turned off. shame, that would have come out well here.
Super stuff a chilly and bright night shoot. Fave, I think it has to be the "snow-dome" Magic. I felt just like a kid when I saw it on the telly with all the flakes flowing around. brilliant.
Cheers M8.
