A Little Trip To Bournemouth
A few days in Bournemouth taken with my trusty HS20. All shots are handheld as I forgot my tripod. I have now brought a monopod from Maplins for next time.
I tried to frame my shots rather than just point and shoot. Some Im pleased with others not so.
Please leave any comments or feedback and thanks for looking.

Bournemonth Beech. I've been trying to setup shots so they look good. Not sure if Im getting it right.

Boscombe Pier. This I think is my best shot to date. Needs cropping a little I know. I was going take snap of just the telescrope but this nice fisherman went stuck his rod next to it. Which I think made it look better.

Another attempt at trying to frame shots. I did try to get central but there was too many people on the other side. I think this worked better tho.
i sat of the floor and did it handheld.

Heather asked me to take this as she like the colours. Me doing as Im told :)

Walking along the cliff top I tried a handheld macro shot. This bee appeared as I was taking the pic. Lucky me.

There are lots of wierd sculptures all over the place. This took my fancy, its set in a bench.
Looks fantastic up close.

I forgot I took this. I like the different layers of rock.

I was trying to get the cliff in the background sharper. Just couldn't seem to get it right. Not sure how I could do better.

This is a little better I think.

I've seen these on telly and always wanted to go on one. So when I saw this on the beech I had have a go. Cheap as well.

The beech.. Nice simple wee pic.

As we was walking into Bournemonth, we saw this balloon going up and down. 20 minutes later we found it. Me and Heather don't like hieghts. So at the time I was confident that Heather wouldn't go on it. So when I asked her, she said yes lets go on it.

After paying £12.50 each, you get to sit and wait. This is the point Heather started to change her mind. I was nearly underneath when I took this.

this Heather holding on for her life. She didn't budge an ich. You can walk around the basket.

The church is 300 feet if I remember correctly and we went above it. On a good clear day you surposed to beable to see 20 miles.

Bournemonth Pier from top of said balloon.

This is a veiw of the park beneath the balloon. A nice fellow snapper who was lot more knowledgeable than me, gave me some tips. He pointed out shots that would look good. I did my best :)

I need crop this to get rid of the road. Then I think this will look good. I did have it framed nice but the wind moved the balloon. ( it really did )

I had watching the paraglider and had been trying to get a decent pic.

There is a horzon thing in the camera but i always forget to use it. I've not gotten into using any software to tidy up photos yet. Something i should start doing.
I do perfer just taking the pic and hoping for the best. Im not totaly convinced on using software to fix the photos. But thats just me, everyone has there views.
I wouldnt ask for feedback otherwise.
Vicky get in a balloon its fun and hopefully you'd get some nice shots. Just wish I knew what to look for at times. But I guess thats part of the fun.
Thanks for the comments...

Extremely nice collection of photographs. Top marks to the one of the pier, like the way that you took it from a very low perspective getting the floorboards disapearing in to the distance.
So the sun does shine in Bournemouth sometimes then?

Nice set of pics, especially the ......pier one! I've only just found the horizon straightener on my HS20 (in the menu, electronic level, on). Definitely worth using as a great shot can be spoiled with a wonky horizon. I also like the shot looking upwards to the balloon - great perspective again.

Nice photoblog Rob. Interesting shots and love the low level pier perspective shot. I always have my valuable but inexpensive cube spirit level attached to my hot shoe on my HS10 camera and have the grid on the camera. Spirit level great for when my eye looks through the tilted flip screen on many more awkward shots when I'm not looking through the viewfinder and keeps my otherwise unlevel horizons straight. Photos of the cube can be seen in pics 2,11,22 & very prominent in pic 52 in my new photoblog Alison visits Viv in York http://www.myfinepix.com/blog/77182/493459 Thanks for sharing Rob. I liked your blog rob_buzz. A good variety of shots, i really like the pier shot.
i don't feel qualified to comment on the techie side of photos as i'm a novice myself but agree about the horizon commemts. I suffer from the same problem!
You're one up on me, every time I try a macro of a bee, it buzzes off before i have chance to take the shot, lol!
