A year at Wallington in pictures - 2011
After taking early retirement, I quickly realised that I needed other things to do rather than gardening and decorating. I was lucky to become a Volunteer Ranger on Hadrian's Wall Path National Trail and a Volunteer working in the grounds and Walled Garden of Wallington Hall; a National Trust property also in Northumberland.
I have to monitor my section of the National Trail at least once a month and I get to Wallington at least one day every week. It is on these visits, that I take the majority of my photographs.
In this blog, I have picked out some photographs from the many I have taken during my volunteering at Wallington.
The first snow of winter 2011, covering the Griffin heads on East Lawn, Wallington.
January 2011 - One of the many fallen trees around the grounds due to the severe winter weather. This was a 200 year old oak that had fallen, blocking the path to the Walled Garden by Garden Pond.
