These wild Nanny goats were captured at the Valley of the Rocks near Lynton, North Devon. They were 'butting' to develop an order of dominance in the herd.

This photo shows the moment just before they locked horns with an almighty bash.

Naughtily, they were fighting in front of the kids!

Perfectly timed shot Angela. Love the angle. Good detail and the mono seems to bring out the goat's fur and horn detail superbly. Wouldn't want to get too close to them.

Good luck.

Excellent capture Angela. The fur is really enhanced by B&W. My favourite so far (but we haven't got too far yet have we). However I think it is a very good image

Wow Angela, this must have been some sight to see. Bit scary as well I can imaging.

Certainly a lot of strength there, perfect for the theme.   Very well captured and good luck. Pam.

Thanks Nessa. Was initially wary about this composition wise as only one goat was face on, however, the more I look at it, the more I think works. Smile

Yes, bang on theme, literally.  Boys will be boys!

Powerful stuff in black and white, that really does work.  Well done.

It looks like nothing on the scroller but that belies its real quality Angela.  I really like this.  The sharpening and the use of black and white give the flowing lines and swirls of their coats, horns and form more emphasis and continuity, binding the two goats together in their struggle.  Very classy and very well thought out.

Thanks Alison. Beautiful day but sat in with hubby as we both have rotten chest colds.....he gave it to me! Thought I would award some medals for being on the scroller as a bit of fun. I awarded myself with a bag of cadbury's buttons instead. Wink

I've been compiling my Lanzarote photoblog tonight to post in the next few days. Not had chance to to do it before as I've had a hectic family time these past two weeks since getting back. Cool
