Sun reflecting on the rippled sand of the Erme Estuary, Devon. Exif data stripped by software. Unfortunately I can't remember whether it was taken with my Finepix S5500 or S9600!

Very artistic Angela. Love the angle and detail. Good colours and textures. Looks like gold daubed in the water. Has a cautic optics feel about it.

At first I thought you had taken this from a plane and  the sand was all little islands. This is a very nice detailed shot and really well taken. Good luck.

In optics, cautic is the name given to the curve to which the rays of light, reflected or refracted by another curve are tangents. Caustics are consequently of two kinds - catacaustics and diacaustics - the former being caustics by reflection and the latter caustics by refraction.

Wonderful picture. It looks almost like a shot from space looking down on a chain of desert islands. We could see this blown up hanging on our apartment wall.

Very interesting effect. I took some similar shots in Cornwall. You had a little more sunshine than me and as a result there is some good depth to the features. Fine shot Angela
