I've seen planes re-fuelling in mid-air, but never birds. A remarkable capture even if the link with the theme is rather tenuous. They don't look the hovering type of bird so I'm still wondering how on earth the flying bird is hanging there. Maybe you could explain how this shot came about and what happened immediatley afterwards. To all intents and purposes, the sitting bird should have been knocked off its perch from the force of the flying one. It's really weird, but I like it.

Thanks for the comment. I wouldn't call it tenuous, just a different take on it
They're very quick at doing this so it was caught just at the right moment...a second later would have resulted in a totally different picture. It's straight from the camera and the only thing I have done is crop it

it is really a wonderful shot, as things happened so fast. and a picture did helps us to see more carefully what is going on with these little creatures.

It's not a question of not knowing what's going on, Muddy Paws. I'm just amazed that's all. It's amazing that the sitting bird wasn't knocked backwards. It seems to defy logic.
