Dean - it looks like someone has added spam to the threads, which has been deleted. However, Angie will go through the most recent threads and add a comment 'Bump' to bring the most recent threads back to the top, otherwise they can be lost if it was a very old thread that had the spam added.
And it's good that she does it for us !

Yes Mike - you are right - the spammers tend to drag very old threads to the top and the current 'conversations' are lost.
