Camera not turning on

Hi all, I have the S4500 and it has been working reasonably fine for the past few weeks however my first set if batteries have run out so i swapped them, the camera now does not want to turn on!
HELP ME PLEASE!

May sound obvious but make sure your batteries are the correct way up and check how powerful your batteries are. Some makes of AA batteries are not powerful enough to operate cameras (even Duracell's from the £ shops don't work) so it's worth investing in rechargeables.

Are you using Lithium or Alkali batteries. Some cameras may reject you using mixed batteries (eg. 2 alkali and 2 lithium)

Im using energiser rechargable lithium batteries and i have taken around 1000 pictures and only recharged them twice so they would be a good buy. Mine were £20 for 4 and the charger.
