Not a great whizz on Mac books - but basically you will have to find a software package that deals with your cameras RAW algorithms. All manufacturers andmost cameras have different algorithms for the RAW process. This means that there can be some difficulty in finding a software that has updated its RAW processing to read your files. Adobe is probably the best, although there are others which are very good - Bibble Labs , DXO - etc. You don't say what your camera is - so I cannot be more specific. If you look on the Adobe site they have a list of cameras which their software will process, as do most of the other software producers.

Depending on what brand camera you own, you will have different raw formats. Go to Adobe and down load the latest RAW converter. That is only if you have the latest Photoshop or image editing program. Photoshop Elements? So yeah. It depends on what make camera and how old or new it is.

Can you see the raw thumbnails as pictures within the folder ? If so you have the correct codex installed within your mac .

It's just your editor is not yet supporting them .

hello and welcome.

You did not give much information with your first post, As others have suggested it is not the OS that matters but the photo software you are using.

Camera RAW is an Adobe product and provided your camera is supported it will work in Mac versions of full Photoshop currently CS5 or Lightroom 4. both programmes can be downloaded as free trials from the Adobe website.

There are other RAW processing softwares available.

Kind regards,

Chas.

Picasa can now open and process RAW (.RAF) files to a certain extent. After editing in Picasa, Click FILE/Save as... to save your photo in jpeg.
