MyFinePix problem - winXP

New Camera bought today, (Finepix HS20) works fine, HOWEVER the MyFinePix software that came "in the box" on cd just does not want to know about working on my WinXP computer.

Anyone else had problems like this? is there a known "cure"?

Error code: LDR00002 - "Error installing the update. The installation seems to be damaged. Please Reinstall"

I've uninstalled and reinstalled THREE TIMES to no avail - anyone offer any help on this one please? - (The installation DOES go on line & pick up updates from the website)

Here's hoping - Thanx, Iain

If you have the 64 bit edition of XP I don't think it's compatable.

Don't use it - most of us don't, just plug the camera into computer with a USB cable or the card into a card reader and use the software in Windows. Open My Computer, the camera will be shown as a 'Removable drive' open this and the folders until you can see you pictures, then copy or move to a folder on your hard drive.

You might need it to upgrade the software version.

Lucky you. don't bother as there are loads of free image altering software out there. As for the best see link. But its all down to personal choice.
There are some very good bits of software, Adobe is one, but depending on how far your willing to experiment with your images. But these can cost a lot.

XP will see your camera as an external hard drive. My XP machine will open my camera straight in to the picture viewer, but my XP machine is due to go to the great skip in the sky Sad

best of luck

Thanks for the rapid responses Guys & Gals,

Since posting, i've also seen several other posts on much the same lines too (grrr!) - and apologies for re-posting what is obviously (now) a well known subject

Why, oh WHY, can't these companies put out a simple program that will actually WORK with thier hardware any more??

y'know, I've used "photoplus"  since . Gawd knows when, for basic editing. It's simple, it seems to work with ALL cameras (certainly the ones I've used over the years) ....... and (bonus!) it works just fine with the new Fugi too :)

...Thanks to "Hoggie", will have a suss out in the morning (a couple too many beers tonight Smile )

I have been having the same issue with this program , istalled & uninstalled several times w/ no success. I even sent a mess. to Fugi & got no response at all. That was a bit discouraging.

Angie D.

Thanks for your input.  Along with the other 1000s of users of Fujifilm Finepix JV110 users (and probably other Finepix users) who have experienced the trauma of seeing 'Error code: LDR00002 - "Error installing the update. The installation seems to be damaged. Please Reinstall" and not knowing what to do. I salute you.  Three installations later and rapid beating of the heart + anger, I resorted the the internet.  Your advice solved my problem.  Why can't Fuji keep it simple.
Collect your reward in Heaven you angel.

I believe it's to do with installing 32bit software like the FinePix within a 64 bit operating system.

64bit PC XP place 64bit compatible software within the standard C:\Program Files, were as 32bit software should be placed in C:\Program Files (x86)

Please take look at my gallery, all remarks good or Bad are welcome

>Right click on 'My Finepixels' icon>troubleshoot compatibility>run recommended settings>restart your computer>open program

That fixed my problem with the program.
