Super moon
Submitted by steelian on Fri, 04/05/2012 - 19:39
On Saturday, May 5, we will once again have a super moon. It will be much bigger and brighter than usual. Now that ultra-zooms are commonplace, you might like to photograph this unusual phenomenon. Before doing so, you might like to read this: http://mansurovs.com/how-to-photograph-moon. Show us your moon shots. I have mine in my Gallery.

I've got my position already planned
I took a pre supermoon shot the other night and uploaded it to my gallery.
And thanks for the link

Saturday is the day for the "biggest moon of the year." No spot picked out yet but I will be checking yours out... be sure to post.
I don't text and drive, I snap photos. =)

let us hope there are no 'superclouds' hiding the moon.

Aaaaagggghhh....does that mean we're in for a glut of "moon shots" on the front page?.....maybe I'll take a few days off from the site until it returns to normal

Hey Kev,
Too bad this is NOT FB... I would share each and EVERY ONE of them with you. =) The only thing I regret is my X-S1 will not arrive until Tuesday or Wednesday.
John, That is a serious concern at the moment. We are catching hail and lightening as I type this.

I think there is over excitement over this event - although it will be nearer, as the guy from the US Naval Observatory said
so don't get too disappointed if it looks exactly the same!!!

Be what you are, say what you feel, 'cos those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

The difference in appearance is so small that "you'd be very hard-pressed to detect that with the unaided eye"
The difference is easily noticable with the unaided eye. The only thing I didn't take in to account was the weather
And don't forget, there's always tomorrow.

Congrats to those that caught it. No captures here. All storms, all the time. Catching more hail as I type. =/ I guess there is always next year.
