Hello everyone, I am so excited I have finally bought a Camera and joined this community. I like taking pictures since the phones started to have cameras on them and ended up with an 8MP HTc that led me to be convinced that I need a nice camera and I finally got the Finepix S4300 today.I was trying it using the automatic mode and it seemed decent. However when I tried to get some close ups (a little dark room with red/orange lights) it was utterly bad. The camera also has always the Blur thing on it, sometimes it does not go even when it is on the table.

Anyone have success with pictures of ballet? I have been shooting at ISO 3200 and will try shutter priority due to the varying light conditions. Any thoughts?

Evening all, bit short notice but if your in the south of England you may be able to see a very bright magnitude -8 (brighter than 99% of ISS sightings) Iridium Flare in just under an hour.Direction to be facing northeast (35 degrees)Elevation 63 degreesTime of appearance 17:22:38 (uk time) setup your camera for a long exposure fire it for maybe 6-8 secs and start shot 2 seconds beforehand. At least thats the plan, if your in mood, try and grab shot.

In general I am new to photography but recently bought a Panasonic TZ20 for my wife as an upgrade to our old dated point and shoot. Having seen the results I have just bought a F600EXR with underwater case to use when scuba diving (only cost £20 more than a case for the TZ20). My wife does not dive so I would like to bring the underwater world to the surface. I have read various forums regarding this topic but I am after some advice from experienced 'done that' 'been there' photographers.

Hello, I am new to this forum and am looking for some advice. I love the look of infared photos and thought i would have a crack at taking some of my own. I have brought a filter adaptor for my camera and the relavent filters and have managed to take some however they all come out in magenta. Looking at some of the online tutorials the correct colour should be shades of red which can then be swapped in Photoshop to make the sky blue and the grass /trees white.

How many of you here have swtiched completely to a DSLR. Did you keep your bridge camera or not. What brand did you switch to.I have been back and forth with this idea for a while now. Essentially I'm after better quality images. I have been considering the Nikon D5100 and D7000 as well as the Canon 600D and 60D.What about you?

I recently purchased a Finepix HS25EXR, and am very new at photography.  I am going to a concert next weekend and would like to take my camera and try to get some pictures.  Could anyone offer a novice some advice on settings?  Thanks for any suggestions!

Hello :)I recently buyed a S2950 camera. I started to take photos with auto-but no luck, all is blurred, no quality. I tried some settings in other shooting modes, but that's just experiments, and no luck too. I started thinking it may be somehow defected-how can I try this? Can you tell me the basic settings for indoors, outdoors in lower light? Thanks :)

So I'm going to be shooting my first photo session in a couple of days.  Inlcuding family and children shots.  All shots will be taken outside using nature as my backdrop.  I'm really nevous even though this is not for profit, trying to raise some money for a friend with cancer.  Any last minute quick tips or advice?

I am fairly new to serious photography. On a recent hike, I tried to take a photo of these beautiful white flowers (which were about 15 ft away from me) with my HS10, but I just couldnt get the flowers in focus. I think this happens when the object is very low contrast and the camera cant figure out what object to focus on. Is there some technique to focus on such objects?ThanksVishnu
