Hello everyone. I'm based in Edinburgh. My Flickr site is in my Signature. I've just about completed an Open University 10-week course on digital photography. I'm learning...

I joined here as I am having difficulty using the super maro on my XS1. The manual says the zoom must be all the way out for it to engage, but when I do that there is no way I can get anything in focus (obviously I've chosen the super macro mode already). So I must be doing something wrong. Any tips?

Im in love with my x100 - a superb camera, but I brought the XS1 for the extremes the X100 can't do - super macro and zooming. Overall I'm delighted with both cameras.

Now I'm here I'll have a look around, see what's happening.

er, no it doesnt - LOL

it says super macro (wide angle) which means no zoom atall. page 36

hope you get some great results

cant see your flikr in sig? have you checked its been saved OK?

Thanks to Torres the talking dog, I now know I got things back to front. So when the manual says ''the lens must be zoomed all the way out'' it actually means the zoom must be all the way IN. Silly me!
