I prefer the wider shot, but if I was going to crop at all, I would leave the girl's face and the violin and just taken a bit from the bottom. The main subject has a really mesmerising look... love it.

What if the Hokey-Cokey really is what it's all about??
I prefer the wider shot and think that if the guy playing the squeeze box had not clocked you would have been even better, still like the shot though gives me nice memorys of Cambridge folk festival.
I like the wider shot and I would have liked to have seen the whole of the trio in the shot, but I think the disgust of the bloke on the sqeezebox makes the shot.
I love the cropped shot, you have captured the important 'bit', the essence of the man. I think he is far away, dreaming, lost in the mustic. He just happened to glance your way. I dont think he is angry at all.
Well done.

Not sure if i like the original above better or a closer crop.
The crop is concentrating more on the important parts, the 'big' picture makes the musician look more alone and sad

Hiyah Uwe
I do like the closer crop. Not so much distraction, much more of a portrait.

An interesting image Uwe. The subject doesn't seem too happy with you. I'd go along with Sheila's advice on cropping.

I like the original, gives a feel for the place and makes the eye contact stronger.

Original wider crop for me too.
He doesn't look very happy - maybe not his favourite song. Great shot though.

Great candid shot Uwe, difficult to know what his expression says, maybe he thinks you are stealing his soul........

I prefer the cropped shot Uwe but if you had got the other violinists face in the original then I would have said that. xxx

I prefer the wider shot, perhaps just crop out or spot heal the microphone stand on the left to make it a little less cluttered.
The eye contact makes this shot!

I'd be happy with either version though I think I prefer the wider version. As others have said, he doesn't look impressed
