No worries about fitting the thme - looks like it does to me.
A nice shot in its own right - perhaps cropping out a bit more of the water, especially at the top, would make it a little better with more emphasis on the duucks.
But these things are always personal opinions on what looks best.

I think you have taken the same interpretation of the theme as me, doesnt have to be opposites, just 2 things positioned next to each other for comparison, so , I like it, and see it as spot on!
