What an exquisite bird! How lucky of you to catch such a great shot of him/her. the coat of orange feathers is deliciously vibrant against the blue sky, and he/she has a pretty delicate blue-ish beak. Altogether quite lovely.

What a very pretty bird, Eleanor, and you have captured a lovely moment with it in full song, and such bright colour and detail. Thank you so much for your comment on my gull and I'm sorry at your frustration with the wrens.  Do keep trying - perhaps a feeder will provide a good target? Or those eagles and hawks you have in your area?

Congrats on making it to the scroller.  I'm pretty frazzled lately, but try to make it to the site a few times each week.  I must have missed this when it was first posted.  It's a lovely shot of a lovely bird--you've got quite the collection of great bird shots by now.  Have you considered posting to Canadian Geographic's website?
