Wow! A very good picture, Wendy. Already without the filter! Is it a physical filter or photoshop that you used? The effect is interesting. The rays are geometrical positioned, this is why they look (for me) a little bit artificial.

Best regards,

Tilman

@TAo2 This photo is awesome, but I think that Wendy's picture in the last month's competition was much better :->

Hi Tilman, Thank you for your comment. This was taken with an 8 star filter on a very sunny day. it is straight from the camera with no photoshop used. I did get photoshop last Christmas but I have not yet used it. I prefer natural pictures.

Hi Wendy I like the effect of your filter and the refraction in the glass ball held in the metal , but what is it? is it a garden ornament or a end of a curtain pole, I have to know!! I'm so nosy Wink

Hi Delia

Thank you for your kind comment. This is a sort of garden ornament, not sure what it is called, it is a metal poll that  sticks into the ground and then another decorative bar balances on the top, mine's got two birds on one end and what you see is the counter balance on the other end. It blows around in the wind making the bird look like they are flying. Not thought of photographing it before until I got the star filter and I am impressed with the results.

An unusual subject.  It looks like you could accidently set something on fire using the sun's rays with that globe. lol.  I like the effect you've achieved - I'm sure it will be fun finding other subjects to use it on.  (I would use photoshop personally, only because I don't do enough real photography Wink)

Hi Wendy, first I'd I like to tell you how much I like your photo, and secondly, I liked it so much, I just knew I had to get a star filter.  It arrived today and I managed to get a few shots off before the sun disappeared behind the rain clouds.  My what fun it is, have put two of the better ones up in my gallery and your comments good or bad would be most appreciated ... Carol

Update:  Thanks Wendy for looking at my two shots and your very kind comments, I look forward to seeing your shots, hope it arrives soonest so you can have lots of fun too.
