Inšpirácia- "life on the rooftop" or "život na streche"

The Himalayas are best known for the tallest mountain in the world. But the Himalayas’ snowy slopes and green valleys are also home to some of "the physically hardest people".

It is not an easy place to live here, but still, people have found a way to survive in these harsh conditions. Their customs and llifestyles have been shaped by natural environment. I had a chance to meet a local man named Sharma whose family has lived here for many decades. I got involved with his family life at first hand. _____________________________________________________________________________

Even his village is cut off and isolated from the world without any running water and electricity supplied, he can’t imagine living anywhere else.
_____________________________________________________________________________

People living in this region must think carefully about how to use the limited natural resources around them because their livelihood is dependent on it. _____________________________________________________________________________

Many families in this valleys are trapped in a cycle of poverty and they have to take care of themselves. Because parents need the help of their kids at home to help the family feed itself, they cannot always afford to attend school. It may be a difficult, but they still have great love and respect for their elders and parents. _____________________________________________________________________________
Mnohé miestne rodiny sú uväznené v nekonečnom kruhu chudoby. Na to aby mohli prežiť a nakŕmiť rodinu, musia deti ostávať doma a pomáhať rodičom. Aj napriek tomu, že im je odopretá možnosť pravidelne chodiť do školy, stále si veľmi vážia a milujú svojich rodičov a príbuzných.

The hard working nature of the those people who live in the Himalaya is famous around the world. Not surprisingly, knitting and weaving hold a special place in this location. Sharma‘s daughters are weaving a carpet with a manual loom. Weaving has an age-old tradition in his family. As he mentioned; „In many local families girls and some boys learn to weave at five or six years old.“ _____________________________________________________________________________

The mountain people of the Himalayas are simple but honest. They dont know how to hate anyone or quarrel with anybody. As Sharpa mentioned;“Everybody trusts each other, no one even locks his house.“ They do not touch what does not belong to them. Life overhere is peaceful and without materialistic insanity.

The reason why I chose the  people of the Himalayas as a topic for my photoblog  is an amazing experience which I would love to share with you. Many people would get bored after a while, but for me this is bliss. I will never forget this feeling when I woke up during the night and stood under millions of stars, surrounded by Himalayas; I truly thought I had found paradise.

___________________________________________________________________________

Ako vravieval Sharma: „ My si tu všetci navzájom veríme a dôverujeme.

I can imagine you would feel you were in Paradice. Such a wonderful experience and your photos depict this. They are wonderful. I love the ones of the people of this most beautiful place.  I have just got back from some of the Indonesian Islands and Australia and have seen many people in the Islands in poverty.  They are always smiling, wonderful people.  This place is near the top of my bucket list. I would dearly love to go there. One day perhaps,

Very nice blog.

The trust and respect for people and property were a way of life in this country, not so long ago.  However, modern progress has a lot to answer for.

Thanks to everyone for your comments and interests. I really appreciate. I really had  great time in India and its my pleasure to share my experiences with you.

Yes you are right, poverty is one of the most serious issues in India. The problem is that people living in poverty are often ignored and remain poor for the whole life. They can’t afford the basic amenities such as drinking water or proper food. The question is  what steps should governments and sociaty take for poverty alleviation???
