Nice blog and nice to see the "English" Lancaster! We have the only other flying Lancaster on this side of the pond - in Hamilton, ON. We try to get to the air shows that the Lancaster is going to be flying in. They are amazing, aren't they?

Hi Archie,
Another great blog. Really interesting stuff. My Dad was in the RAF during the war but, try as I might I could never get him to talk about it. I respect that he would have had his reasons but I am not able to tell his tale, if there was one to tell. So it is always great when people do remember what the lads did for us during the war.
Respect to you for putting this blog together.

A cracking blog. Nice sillouettes and the final shots of the Lancaster are tremendous. Glad you were able to get a decent crop and get rid of the wires.

Thank you for the comments and yes John I was glad I could get rid of the wires, in the village there is only a small area where there are no wires unfortunately it didn't fly there.

Another super blog Nigel, very well done.
Some lovely shots and interesting narrative too. I love the shot of the memorial close up...even with your shadow in it - it sort of gives it an arty feel.
And the Lancaster ? Well it's just magificent isn't it and I thought you captured it really well.
Thanks for sharing, Alison x
Give a stranger one of your smiles, it might be the only sunshine he see's all day.

Hi Nigel,
Saw the blog this morning at work but was unable to comment at the time. This is a brilliant blog. Seen the Lancaster many times including this year. Always an awesome sight. If you like WW2 subjects have a look at my Twisted Seam stockings blog if you have the time.

thank you for your kind comments on my blogs. nice shots here ,especially the last couple of the old bomber. its just a shame that there was any need for these shots , too many good people died , its nice you remembered them as should we all. thank you ,sometimes we need a timely reminder of what is precious and who gave us the choices we have today !
