A couple of years back I came across this small compact camera. I was not particularly looking for such a small tool to capture images, but I bought it and took it home. I was after a smaller camera that would not take up much space. I already owned two big Canon with heaps of attachments.
Needless to say I was impressed with every feature this presents, from macro through to landscape and portrait. I take this little beauty everywhere. It makes my day. I enjoy capturing images of mammatus cloud
Convenience A handy extra tool.
I do find that using the zoom does not present one with the best pictures. Too much noise.I just try and get closer to a subject to avoid using it.

cheap and it takes very good photos!!!
I have none:)
I have two Fuji cameras one a n HS 30 EXR with which I am satisfied the other an X-S1 I bought because I was tired buying lens for my two Nikons. I sold both my Nikons and all my lens to get one camera that would meet all my needs. I live in Okinawa, Japan and I bought my camera from Amazon Japan because the price was almost 20,000 yen cheaper that the only brand name store that actually had an X-S1 on display. I read many reviews and all soke highly of the camera some saying the lens were great
Strong body, quality pictures
Poor lens quality as it creeps and droops
As an amateur but increasingly serious photographer I'm ecstatic over this marvel. I can't compare it to other makes, but I can't see how a camera could be smarter. It has features I couldn't imagine ANY camera could offer at ANY price, EVER. And the lens isn't pro level, but close to it. Unless you're happy with its auto modes -and you could very well be- mastering it takes time and effort before you can get great shots under poor lighting or other difficult conditions: so ease of use=4/5.
Excellent lens, auto/manual focus control with smart assistance, HD video, ISO 12800, still shots while recording video, silk-smooth and steady panoramas up to 360°, intelligent flash, ultra-wide angle (24 mm), tiltable LCD screen, face detection AND recognition into a database, improved night photography, control over contrast, sepia and other classic-film simulations, and more.
So advanced that it gets complex and requires a lot of study and experimentation.
A little slow processing multiple shots.
Zoom controlled manually but jerky especially when hand-held.
Would love time-lapse capability.
This is a nice little basic camera that is easy to use and get good images. It is a good product for a first time user or someone with more experance. It has all the things you may need with anti-shake and a lot more but you can set it so you dont need to know anything about them things.
easy to use

you get what you pay for
I quite like my S4000, it takes some amazing photos, its macro and super macro settings are very good for close up work and you get some quite good photos. The cameras settings from the point and shoot auto to the aperature and shutters settings are very easy to use. I even like the histograph so you can see if the photo is over or under exposed.
The only drawbacks are the viewfinder is a little poor and it can be sore on the batteries from time to time. The 30x zoom could also be a bit bet
Good Macro Settings
Easy to Use
Good Picture Quality (Mostly)
Could have a better zoom
Needs a better viewfinder

Great camera, excellent pic quality, this camera rivals a 4/3's quality... macro mode is awesome.

Fantastic camera for starting off or even an upgrade from a smaller camera! Great quality, very easy to use lots of settings and sub-settings to really get the best quality of our image. I've taken some pretty nice photos with it! The photos I have put with this review have been taken with this camera.
So many settings and sub-settings to choose from!
It's not very fast! There is a delay when taking a photo! This does become a problem when shooting action photos.
This camera is quite simply amazing.
Sure it has a few quirks about it but once you understand how it works you have a camera that is going to help you create some great photos and you'll enjoy using it too.
Fuji should be congratulated on the lens, its super sharp and the incredible iso handling, which makes taking photos in low light possible with high quality results.
Best of all, this little camera just fits in my jeans pocket which was a great help when walking around Italy, Spain and Japan.
