I grew up in Hurst Green, Surrey, but settled in Gosport on leaving the Royal Navy having served 22 years as a stoker (Marine Engineering Mechanic). Now I maintain climatic and environmental test chambers to earn my beer tokens (same spanners, different working environment, still a stoker really!). Married, with three children who are now grown up and I take great pleasure in being Grandad. I still enjoy taking pictures as a hobby and reckon I've now moved on a step from the "very much a learner" in my previous profile, due mainly to comment and advice received from the good folk of MyFinePix.
